Growing our team, we are currently looking for a Freelance WordPress Web Developer – Performance Specialist.

Job Description

Are you a talented web developer with a passion for optimizing website speed performance? Do you have experience working with metrics like Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Contentful Paint (FCP), and Speed Index? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Web Developer – Website Speed Performance Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the designer to understand website performance goals and requirements.
Identify opportunities for improving website speed and performance.
Optimize website assets, code, and server configurations to enhance page load times and overall performance.
Conduct performance audits and analyze performance metrics, including Core Web Vitals [ Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), etc.].
Implement performance optimization techniques, such as lazy loading, image optimization, caching strategies, and minification.
Monitor and analyze website performance using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and WebPageTest.
Stay up-to-date with the latest web performance trends, techniques, and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance-related, and other web development issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a web developer with a focus on website speed performance.
Strong understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and HTTPS protocols.
Solid knowledge of performance optimization techniques and tools.
Experience with metrics and fixing Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), etc. issues.
Experience with performance monitoring and analysis tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and WebPageTest.
Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting performance issues.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress.
Knowledge of front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Familiarity with back-end technologies like PHP, Python, or Node.js.
Understanding of mobile web development and responsive design principles.
